Siberian squill planting campaign in Warsaw
Today we are pleased to share with you an unusual initiative that has blossomed like the beautiful bells of the Siberian onion. What is this unique plant? It is a perennial species of the asparagus family, able to survive extreme weather conditions, yet full of charm and important for pollinators.
On 27.10.2023, together with 30 extraordinary volunteers from one of our partner companies, we undertook the task of planting as many as 4,700 Siberian bulbs in the heart of Warsaw. It was a true demonstration of care for nature and pollinators, which play a key role in maintaining the balance of ecosystems. Our fantastic volunteers joined in the action with full commitment, translating their energy into a green future for the city.
We would also like to thank the staff of the Warsaw Greenery Board who supported our initiative. Thanks to their support, our activities are becoming more meaningful, contributing to the creation of more human- and pollinator-friendly urban spaces.
It is also worth noting that the Siberian onion not only pleases the eye with its beauty, but also plays an important role as one of the first honey plants of the season. Its flowers are like little oases of food for bees and other pollinators, which is a key element in preserving biodiversity.
We would like to thank all those involved who, together with us, nurture our planet. It is partnerships and joint actions like this that make our cities a place where nature and people coexist harmoniously.
