Planting 180 trees with Suntory in Garwolin on 30 October 2024

On 30 October 2024, the One More Tree Foundation organised another tree planting event, this time in Garwolin, in cooperation with Suntory. As part of the event, 180 trees were planted, which in the future will become an important part of the local landscape and contribute to improving air quality and enriching local biodiversity.

Tree species planted during the event

Five tree species were planted during the event, including:

  • Maple – Maples are known for their ability to absorb pollutants and for their beautiful, colourful leaves that decorate the landscape especially in autumn. These trees are also an important part of ecosystems, providing food for insects.
  • Lime – The lime tree is a tree with exceptionally aromatic flowers that attract bees and other pollinating insects. It is a species particularly valued in green spaces for its ecological and medicinal qualities.
  • Birch – Birches are a symbol of resilience and endurance. Their distinctive white bark and ability to grow in harsh conditions make them a valuable species for local ecosystems.
  • Hawthorn – Hawthorn is a small tree with decorative flowers and fruits that are a source of food for birds and mammals. It is also valued in horticulture for its ornamental qualities.
  • Bird cherry – The bird cherry is a species that provides food for many bird species. Its fruit and flowers support the local fauna, and the tree is also valued for its aesthetic qualities.

Each of these species has been carefully selected to best adapt to local environmental conditions and support the development of the ecosystem. Maples and lime trees are particularly valued for their aesthetic qualities and their ability to absorb pollutants, birches are known for their resilience, and hawthorn and bird cherry further support the local fauna by providing food for birds.

Collaboration with Suntory

This event would not have taken place without the support of Suntory, which is actively involved in environmental activities. Suntory’s participation in this event underlines the company’s commitment to a sustainable future and concern for the protection of natural resources.

Suntory employees participated in the tree planting, together with volunteers from the One More Tree Foundation. Their energy and commitment made the event run smoothly and in a friendly atmosphere.

Importance of tree planting

Planting trees is a key element in the fight against climate change and an activity that has many benefits for both people and the environment. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, produce oxygen, improve air quality and also provide shelter for many animal species. Actions such as the one in Garwolin are an excellent example of how, together, we can change our world for the better.

Summary

Thanks to the cooperation between the One More Tree Foundation and the Suntory company, it was possible to realise another project that will contribute to environmental protection and enrich green spaces in Poland. The joint efforts of the participants show that action for nature can bring people together and build a better future for us all.
