One More Tree at the 10th European Congress of Local Governments in Mikolajki on 3-4 March

The One More Tree Foundation had the pleasure of participating in the 10th European Congress of Local Governments, which took place on 3-4 March in Mikolajki. The event brought together representatives of local government administration, non-governmental organisations and experts, creating a space for the exchange of experiences and the search for solutions to key challenges of the modern world, including issues related to environmental protection and sustainable development.

One More Tree Foundation activities during the Congress

During the congress, One More Tree Foundation representatives actively participated in panel discussions on environmental protection, circular economy and climate change mitigation. By exchanging knowledge and experience with experts and local government representatives, new perspectives and inspiration for future initiatives were gained.

Another important aspect of participation in the event was the establishment of cooperation with representatives of local governments and NGOs. The Foundation focused on building partnerships that will enable the implementation of further land afforestation projects and the protection of urban and peri-urban ecosystems. Discussions at the congress helped identify potential locations for future tree planting campaigns, a key element of the foundation’s efforts to increase green space.

Importance of participation in local government congresses

Conferences such as the European Congress of Local Governments provide an important platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between environmental organisations and representatives of public administration. Attendance at such events allows not only the acquisition of new contacts, but also the search for effective solutions that can be implemented in practice. By participating in panels and discussions, the One More Tree Foundation is able to pursue its goals more effectively, working with local governments in the areas of urban greening, biodiversity protection and environmental education.

The 10th European Congress of Local Governments brought together leaders from across Europe to discuss the challenges facing local communities. Key topics at this year’s event included energy transition, strategies to combat climate change and issues related to the adaptation of urban areas to increasing environmental threats. For the One More Tree Foundation, it was not only an inspiring event, but also an opportunity to share experiences with experts from different sectors.

Plans for the coming weeks

Participation in the 10th European Congress of Local Governments is only the beginning of the One More Tree Foundation’s spring activities. The first field actions are already starting in the coming weeks, with further tree planting and green space revitalisation initiatives planned.

The Foundation encourages you to follow further activities and actively join in the projects. Together, we can effectively combat environmental degradation and work towards a more sustainable future.
