Planting 100 trees, 500 flower bulbs and an environmental workshop in Biała Podlaska on 17 March 2025
On 17 March in Biała Podlaska, we combined education with real action for the environment. Thanks to a joint effort, 100 ash tree seedlings and 500 flower bulbs were planted, and seeds were donated for sowing when more favourable weather arrives. But that’s not all – the event started with an environmental workshop, which introduced students to the topic of biodiversity and its key role in nature.
Environmental education in practice – a workshop for pupils
We started the day with a meeting with pupils from Primary School No. 2 in Biała Podlaska. The environmental workshop ‘Facts and Myths about Biodiversity’ was an opportunity to talk about why nature conservation is so important and how each of us can contribute to it.
During the workshop, students learned the answers to many important questions: what is biodiversity and why is it endangered, are bees the only pollinating insects and how can we support wildlife in our cities. At the end, the participants took part in an ecological quiz, which tested their knowledge and provided new curiosities. It turned out that the young people are well aware of the ecological challenges and their commitment to the topic of nature conservation is encouraging.
Planting trees and flowers – real action for the environment
After the educational part, it was time for action. Together, we planted 100 ash tree seedlings and 500 flower bulbs, which will bloom in spring, beautifying the town and supporting the local ecosystem. In addition, we donated seeds that will be sown when weather conditions are more favourable.
The action was attended by the mayor of the city, Michał Litwiniuk, students and teachers from the Primary School No. 2 and the Primary School No. 3, as well as representatives of the Biała Podlaska Municipality. By working together, the trees and plants will gain the right conditions for growth, and residents will be able to enjoy an even more beautiful and green environment.
Why are such initiatives so important?
Environmental education combined with real action is the best way to create environmental awareness among younger generations. Such actions are of great importance because they improve air quality – trees absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen, create new habitats for animals, increase water retention and create ecological awareness. Involving the local community in nature activities makes people more willing to take care of their surroundings.
This is just the beginning!
Some of the plants have already been planted, and the rest of the plantings will be carried out by the Biała Podlaska Municipality in the near future. This shows the value of joint action and how much we can achieve when we join forces. We would like to thank everyone for their involvement, help and common care for nature. Together we are creating a better future – full of greenery, clean air and a healthy ecosystem. Follow our activities and join us in more green initiatives.
