Planting over 1,500 trees in Garwolin, Poland on 31 March 2025

A unique tree planting event took place in Garwolin on 31 March 2025, organised by the One More Tree Foundation in cooperation with the Garwolin Forestry Commission. The aim of the event was not only to replenish the tree stand, but also to build environmental awareness and involve the local community and the foundation’s partners in joint activities to protect the environment.

Thanks to this initiative, more than 1,500 young trees were planted and the area covered by the action gained new life. This is another event that shows how much can be achieved when different parties join forces for a good cause.

The power of volunteering

The involvement of nearly 50 volunteers representing the foundation’s partners was of great importance. With energy, commitment and smiles on their faces, they took part in intensive field work that required not only physical strength, but also cooperation and coordination.

Planting such a large number of trees is quite a challenge, but thanks to a joint effort, the work was completed in just a few hours. For many of the participants, this was not only an opportunity to be active outdoors, but also an important experience to make a real contribution to nature conservation.

Beech and lime trees – trees with a future

As part of the campaign, beech and lime trees were planted – native species, perfectly adapted to Polish climatic conditions. Beech trees are famous for their longevity and majestic appearance, while lime trees are attractive not only for their fragrance and beauty, but also for their great value for pollinating insects, especially bees.

These trees play a key role in the ecosystem – they absorb carbon dioxide, clean the air, retain water in the soil and stabilise the temperature and microclimate of their surroundings. In addition, they provide shelter and a source of food for many species of birds, insects and small mammals.

This is an investment in Garwolin’s green future. The trees planted will, over time, create a lush and diverse biological space that will not only serve nature, but will also become a place for recreation, walks and environmental education for residents and visitors to the region.

We keep going!

The One More Tree Foundation is not slowing down and is already planning further ecological activities in various parts of Poland. Spring is a special time for us – a time of intensive work, but also of joy in creating something together that has a real meaning for the environment.

Events like the one in Garwolin are not only a way for us to green the country, but also an opportunity to build a strong community of people who are close to the values of caring for the planet. Every time someone puts on the gloves and picks up a sapling, they become part of a bigger change.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the event – volunteers, partners and the Garwolin Forest District for their trust, cooperation and working together for the environment. Together we really can do more – that is why we already invite you to take part in future actions!
