Planting 3,000 plants with GSK in Wołomin on April 11, 2025
On April 11, the One More Tree Foundation visited Wołomin, where we carried out a special greening initiative together with volunteers from GSK. This time, our efforts focused on two educational institutions: Kindergarten No. 5 “Puss in Boots” and Wacław Nałkowski High School No. 1. These places literally blossomed — thanks to our joint efforts, we planted nearly 3,000 plants! On this day, it wasn’t just about the number of seedlings planted, but about the atmosphere of cooperation, education, and the joy of action.
A colorful kindergarten — thousands of plants and smiles
The kindergarten grounds were transformed into a true garden, full of colors and diverse plant species. We planted as many as 2,000 flower bulbs — tiger lilies, gladioli, freesias, and anemones, which will soon bloom and delight the youngest eyes. We also added 250 ornamental shrubs, including spireas, mock oranges, forsythias, viburnums, hibiscuses, and dogwoods. Another 30 shrubs — potentillas and tamarisks — brought even more vitality to the composition. The planting was completed with 80 ornamental grasses: fountain grass, ‘Ice Dance’ sedges, fescues, molinias, and miscanthus — adding a light and natural rhythm to the space.
Trees and flowers at the high school — a green investment in the future
Equally intense efforts took place at Wacław Nałkowski High School. Students and teachers enthusiastically joined the planting, helping us to plant 130 young trees. This is not only a symbol of climate care but a real investment in the future — the trees will provide natural shade and improve air quality in the area. We also planted 500 flower bulbs, which will enrich the school grounds with vibrant colors and fragrances in the spring. By combining taller and shorter plants, we created a green space ideal for both learning and relaxation.
Working together — the power of community
The action brought together not only GSK volunteers but also kindergartners, students, and teachers. Planting together was a great opportunity for environmental education — children learned the names of plants, how to care for them, and why protecting nature is so important. Joy and involvement were visible on every face — young gardeners proudly showed off their seedlings, while adults eagerly dug, watered, and created beautiful compositions. These kinds of activities not only beautify our surroundings but also strengthen community bonds.

Altogether, we planted 2,960 plants — an impressive result made possible by the dedication of all participants. Thanks to the cooperation between One More Tree Foundation and GSK, we achieved something greater than just new plantings — we created a lasting memory of a day full of kindness, action, and shared care for the environment. We thank every person who contributed — with a shovel, a watering can, a smile, and heart. Because every tree and every flower is a step toward a better, greener future.
