600 Trees for Wrocław – A Joint Effort with Wielki Mały Świat Association and Smith & Nephew

On April 15, a special tree-planting event took place on the reclaimed land near Ćwiczebna Street in Wrocław. A total of 22 participants came together to plant 600 young trees. The initiative aimed to support local biodiversity and bring greenery back to an area that had recently required ecological restoration.

During the event, 100 saplings of each of the following five tree species were planted: oak, beech, linden, elm, and hornbeam. This diverse selection was no coincidence – each of these species plays an important role in the ecosystem.
Oaks and beeches are long-living trees that provide shelter for many species of birds and insects. Linden trees are a valuable nectar source for bees and a symbol of native nature. Elms and hornbeams help stabilize the soil and are well adapted to urban conditions.

With 22 people taking part in the planting, this means each participant planted around 27 trees. That’s an impressive number and reflects the commitment and enthusiasm of everyone involved. The work was carried out in a spirit of collaboration, and its effects will be visible for decades to come – not only as newly growing trees, but also as a living symbol of care for the environment.

The event was organized in cooperation with the Wielki Mały Świat Association and Smith & Nephew, a partner supporting pro-environmental initiatives. Thanks to the involvement of these organizations, the saplings were secured, and the entire effort was planned and executed professionally and safely.

The area near Ćwiczebna Street is getting a new lease on life, and the residents of Wrocław are gaining another green space for relaxation and reconnecting with nature.
