Cleaning up Sobieski Forest in Warsaw with Sungrow on April 16, 2025
On 16 April 2025, a unique clean-up action took place in Sobieski Forest with the aim of restoring nature to the cleanliness it deserves. Sungrow employees took part – 25 people who decided to work together to take care of our surroundings. The results of their work were impressive: they collected abandoned rubbish in 15 large bags, and the forest regained its natural splendour.
Preparations for the Action
The day started with a short organisational meeting, during which protective gloves, waste bags and collection routes were distributed and planned. The joint preparation for the action added energy and a sense of shared responsibility. Even before the team set off on the forest paths, the atmosphere was full of enthusiasm and participants were eager to share their ideas for improving the environment. It was a moment to realise that each of us has an impact on the space in which we live.
Why Litter in the Forest is Dangerous.
Picking up litter is an important part of protecting the environment, but also educating people about the dangers of dumping waste in nature. Litter in the forest not only spoils the aesthetics of the landscape, but also has a serious impact on ecosystems. Plastic packaging and bottles can take a long time to decompose, releasing toxic substances into the soil and groundwater. Forest animals, such as birds and mammals, often get caught up in discarded items, which can lead to death or serious injury.
Furthermore, litter attracts unwanted insects, which can disrupt the balance of the local ecosystem. Improperly discarded plastic and glass packaging also poses a fire hazard, especially during periods of dry weather. For this reason, it is so important to keep the forests clean – both for their health and for the health of our planet.
From cleaning to environmental awareness
Once the action started, the participants split into groups and set off for different corners of the forest. With each step, plastic bottles, packaging, discarded cardboard boxes and pieces of fabric found their way into the bags. Although each piece of rubbish seemed small, in total the waste collected had a huge impact on the aesthetics and health of the forest.
During the work, there was no shortage of conversations about the importance of taking care of ecosystems and how our everyday choices, such as proper waste segregation, can affect the environment. Working together in this spirit was not only a form of physical activity, but also a conscious step towards greater environmental responsibility.
After several hours of intensive work, it was time to conclude the action and reflect. A clean environment is crucial for a healthy ecosystem. In addition, cleaner forests are more pleasant for visitors. These types of initiatives are also important in building social responsibility and cooperation within the company.
Thank you!
We would like to thank all Sungrow employees for their commitment and dedication to improving the environment. The Sobieski Forest clean-up campaign was not just a temporary activity, but an inspiration to continue taking care of our planet. We hope that the experience will encourage others to get involved in environmentally friendly initiatives, both at work and in everyday life.
We are pleased to have been able to participate in this initiative and look forward to further joint projects that will positively impact our environment. Working together is not only a way to improve the environment, but also to bring people together and create stronger bonds within the team.
