Cleaning Sobieski Forest with Coface in Warsaw on May 22, 2025
On May 22, 2025, a special environmental initiative took place in Warsaw’s Sobieski Forest, organized by One More Tree Foundation in collaboration with Coface. Fourteen Coface employees participated in the event as part of their employee volunteering program, actively engaging in cleaning the area and removing accumulated waste. The initiative aimed not only to restore a valuable natural site but also to raise ecological awareness and strengthen the sense of environmental responsibility among participants and the local community. It was one of many actions reflecting the organizers’ long-term commitment to nature conservation and promoting a sustainable lifestyle.
Sobieski Forest – The Green Heart of Warsaw
Sobieski Forest is one of the most important green areas on the map of Poland’s capital – a recreational, educational, and ecological space teeming with wildlife, serving as a natural air filter and a sanctuary for biodiversity. As part of a broader urban green complex, this forest attracts Warsaw residents seeking contact with nature. Walkers, cyclists, joggers, and families with children enjoy its charms every day. Unfortunately, like many urban forests, this area struggles with littering, which poses a threat to its fauna, flora, and recreational value. Abandoned waste not only spoils the landscape’s aesthetics but also presents a real danger to animals and the soil, polluting the environment and reducing its regenerative capacity.
A Collective Effort for Nature
Coface volunteers worked with great dedication and energy for several hours to clean designated parts of the forest. Their efforts included collecting visible waste on the surface as well as harder-to-reach litter hidden among bushes or under leaves. As a result of their work, 12 bags of waste were gathered, including plastic bottles, cans, paper, and hazardous items such as glass and metal objects that could pose risks to wildlife or forest visitors. The participants demonstrated strong determination and responsibility – each filled bag of waste stood as proof of the effectiveness of their joint effort and the power of teamwork.
Volunteering That Unites and Inspires
Participating in such initiatives is not only a contribution to environmental protection but also an opportunity to build a sense of community, strengthen team integration, and promote corporate social responsibility. Working together outside the office allowed colleagues to see each other in a new light, fostered stronger relationships, and created an atmosphere of mutual support. For many participants, it was also a moment of reflection on their daily habits and the environmental impact of individual choices. This kind of volunteering not only brings people together but also helps develop soft skills such as empathy, cooperation, and accountability.
Education and Leading by Example
The Sobieski Forest clean-up also carried an important message for the local community – demonstrating that even small actions matter and that everyone can contribute to environmental protection. The presence of company employees in the forest, wearing high-visibility vests and collecting waste with enthusiasm, did not go unnoticed by residents. Initiatives like this promote pro-environmental attitudes, teach responsibility, and inspire both individual and group efforts. The example set by Coface and One More Tree Foundation serves as a model for effective employee volunteering and cross-sector collaboration. It proves that the private sector can be a valuable partner in supporting social and ecological initiatives and in working towards a healthier environment.
Conclusion
The joint initiative by One More Tree Foundation and Coface was a resounding success – 14 volunteers, 12 bags of waste, and above all, a strong sense of agency, responsibility, and pride in the positive impact made on the surrounding world. Thanks to the participants’ commitment, not only was a portion of the forest cleaned, but a clear message was sent – together, we can truly make a difference. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took part in the event for their time, dedication, and positive energy.
