Cleanup of Henryków Forest in Warsaw with Diebold Nixdorf on May 26 2025
On May 26, 2025, we organized another green space cleanup — this time in Henryków Forest, located in Warsaw. The event brought together 15 volunteers from Diebold Nixdorf, who, as part of their corporate volunteering program, dedicated their time to care for this valuable natural area. After several hours of teamwork, we collected 16 bags of waste, which were properly sorted and prepared for recycling.
Henryków Forest – A green space on the edge of the city
Henryków Forest is a charming woodland in Warsaw’s Białołęka district, well-loved by residents as a place for walking, cycling, and connecting with nature. Although it retains much of its natural character, the impact of littering is evident here as well. That’s why we chose this site for our cleanup — to restore its cleanliness and support the local ecosystem.
Why is forest cleanup so important?
Litter left behind in forests poses serious threats — not only to the landscape but especially to wildlife. Plastic packaging, glass, metal cans, and organic waste can be deadly for animals that might ingest them or get injured. Some materials take decades or even centuries to decompose, polluting the soil and water in the process. Additionally, abandoned trash increases the risk of forest fires and negatively impacts the experience of visitors. That’s why regular cleanups are so important: they protect nature and help ensure safety and quality of life for all.
Action with real impact
The Diebold Nixdorf volunteers worked with great commitment and determination. Over the course of several hours, they cleared the area of plastic waste, glass, cans, and other garbage that could harm both the environment and the people using the forest. The result? 16 fewer bags of trash and a visibly cleaner, safer, and more enjoyable forest for everyone.
A model of responsible collaboration
The Henryków Forest cleanup is another example of how partnerships with the business sector can generate real environmental benefits. The involvement of Diebold Nixdorf employees demonstrates that corporate volunteering has tremendous potential — not only in environmental terms but also in team building and education. By working together, we can better address local needs and foster a culture of social responsibility.
Thank you!
We sincerely thank all the volunteers who joined us in Henryków Forest. Your energy, dedication, and willingness to act prove that, together, we can truly make a difference in our environment. We look forward to the next initiative!
