Workshops on making natural soaps at the Mother and Child Home in Sosnowiec – 29 August 2025
On 29 August 2025, a special workshop on creating natural soap was held at the Mother and Child Home in Sosnowiec. The event brought together residents of the facility, who had the opportunity to learn about natural cosmetics, understand their impact on the environment and health, and see how everyday choices can support the planet. The workshop was a chance for hands-on learning and showed that simple daily actions can have a real impact on ecology.
The workshop was organized as part of the Green Pulse of Silesia project, implemented by the One More Tree Foundation in cooperation with Stellantis. The aim of the program is to promote environmental awareness, encourage responsible consumer choices and present practical ways to care for the environment in everyday life. The project focuses on practical education, combining theory with action so participants can immediately apply their knowledge in daily routines.
Natural Soap – A Practical Lesson in Ecology
During the workshop, participants learned about the properties of plant-based ingredients and how natural oils and herbs affect health and well-being. The sessions also addressed the importance of reducing plastic use and supporting local, safe raw materials as alternatives to mass-produced cosmetics. The workshop helped participants understand that everyday consumer decisions influence the environment and can support sustainable development.
Each participant prepared her own soap composition by selecting herbs, essential oils and natural additives. This allowed them to see how easily an environmentally friendly product can be created to replace mass-market cosmetics. The creation process was not only a practical ecology lesson but also an opportunity to deepen knowledge about ingredients and their properties.
Working Together and Sharing Experiences
The workshop space was designed to encourage cooperation and the exchange of experiences among participants. The residents supported one another while preparing their soaps, fostering an atmosphere of trust and collaboration. Group activities showed that working together can be a source of inspiration and motivation to take further eco-friendly actions.
The moment of removing the finished soap bars from the molds was filled with satisfaction – each bar was unique and became proof that more sustainable choices are possible in everyday life. The workshop allowed participants to experience how even small, practical actions can have a significant impact on environmental protection and quality of life.
Education and Awareness – The Key to Change
The workshop showed that environmental education can be engaging and practical. Participants learned how their everyday decisions can reduce waste, protect the environment and support the local economy. The meeting became an impulse for reflection on how to introduce simple, eco-friendly habits into daily life.
Thanks to practical exercises, participants were able to turn theoretical knowledge into real action. They understood that creating natural products at home is not only a form of self-care, but also a tangible contribution to environmental protection. The workshop seamlessly combined education, environmental awareness and practical skills.
