Cleaning Green Areas with Synaptics in Katowice on September 18, 2025

On September 18, 2025, together with the Synaptics team, we organized a cleanup of green areas around the apartment blocks on Hallera Street in Katowice. The event brought together 17 volunteers, who within just a few hours collected over 100 bags of waste, as well as several large discarded items that couldn’t fit into the bags – including old furniture, a mattress, and car tires.

The scale of the collected waste shows how much urban green spaces need our care and attention. Thanks to our joint effort, we restored cleanliness and order to the area, creating a space where residents can relax and enjoy nature right in the heart of the city.

Volunteering that Supports Health and Relationships

Employee volunteering is becoming an increasingly important part of modern organizations – not only for social reasons but also for its impact on health. For many people who work remotely or in hybrid mode, shared activities outside the office are a chance for contact, movement, and real face-to-face conversations.

Research confirms that physical activity, teamwork, and being in nature have a positive effect on well-being and help reduce stress. Volunteering therefore offers more than just the satisfaction of helping – it allows people to step away from screens, regain energy, and remember how important relationships within a team truly are.

For the Synaptics employees, it was a day full of cooperation, smiles, and engagement. A shared goal, effort, and the immediate results of their work strengthened the team better than many internal workshops.

Small Gestures, Big Impact

During the cleanup, we talked about how everyday habits affect the environment and what each of us can do to reduce waste. Volunteers pointed out that the problem of litter in cities is not just a matter of cleanliness but also of awareness and responsibility for our shared surroundings.

Each piece of trash picked up was a symbol of care for the common good. It is precisely these small gestures – taken by many people – that create lasting change.

CSR in Practice – Responsibility that Inspires

Actions like this one in Katowice are not only local environmental initiatives but also a tangible implementation of the idea of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Modern companies increasingly recognize that their influence does not end at the office door. They can genuinely shape attitudes, support communities, and act for the environment – for the benefit of all.

Environmental actions involving employees help align a company’s values with its everyday operations. They are a visible example that environmental responsibility can be a natural part of business strategy rather than just an addition.
Thanks to such initiatives, CSR gains true meaning – becoming a bridge between business, people, and nature.

Ecology Begins Where We Live

While cleaning the area along Hallera Street, we realized that ecology is not only about large-scale actions. It is above all about everyday care for the spaces that surround us. That day, we removed hundreds of kilograms of waste that could have polluted the soil and endangered animals. We showed that caring for the planet begins right on our own doorstep – both literally and figuratively.

Together for People and Nature

Thanks to our collaboration with Synaptics, we not only managed to clean a large part of Katowice but also demonstrated how much potential lies in collective action. Joint initiatives between employees and social organizations bring benefits on many levels – for the environment, for communities, and for the participants themselves.

We thank all Synaptics volunteers for their energy, smiles, and determination. Each such initiative is proof that together we can care for nature and for one another.
