Workshops “Insect Hotels” in Racibórz – September 23, 2025

In Racibórz, workshops were held as part of the “Green Pulse of Silesia” project, implemented in cooperation with the company Stellantis. The meeting took place at the Racibórz Cultural Centre, where together with female and male students from Primary School No. 1 in Ostróg, we created insect houses.

Participants prepared shelters for pollinating insects with great commitment. The finished structures were placed in the area around the school and the cultural centre, where they now play their role in protecting local nature.

Why are insect houses important?

The workshops had both a practical and educational character. Pollinating insects – such as solitary bees, ladybirds and butterflies – play a key role in maintaining ecological balance. Their population is declining as a result of environmental pollution, the use of chemical plant protection products and the loss of natural habitats.

By creating insect houses, we provide insects with safe places to live and reproduce, thereby supporting biodiversity and the health of ecosystems. Each such initiative is a real action for the protection of nature.

Ecology in practice – learning that engages

During the workshops, we showed that ecology can be interesting and accessible to everyone. Participants could build the houses themselves, learn about natural materials and find out how insects use the prepared shelters.

Working together was not only great fun but also an important lesson in responsibility. These activities shape pro-ecological attitudes and build sensitivity to the needs of the environment.

Green Pulse of Silesia – responsibility that connects

The “Green Pulse of Silesia” project shows that ecology is a shared responsibility of business, organisations and local communities. Thanks to cooperation with Stellantis, the workshops combined education with practical action.

Such initiatives leave a lasting mark – not only in space but also in the awareness of participants. This is an example that together we can truly influence the future of our planet.

Small actions – big changes

The workshops in Racibórz showed that even small actions can have great significance. The insect houses created are a symbol of care for biodiversity and responsibility for the environment.

Each such event contributes to building a better tomorrow – a cleaner environment and healthier ecosystems. Participants proved that the future can be shaped with care for nature.
