Sowing a Flower Meadow and Planting Bulbs in Tychy on October 8, 2025
On October 8, 2025, Tychy turned beautifully green! As part of the Green Pulse of Silesia project, organized together with Stellantis, we met with local residents to sow flower meadows and plant bulbs that will become a source of food for bees, bumblebees, and butterflies in the spring.
1000 m² for Nature
We worked in two locations – Suble Park and the green area near Hlonda Street. The initiative brought together volunteers from Stellantis, seniors from the University of the Third Age and the Senior Club, as well as students from a nearby school.
Together, we rolled up our sleeves and transformed an unused area into a vibrant space that will bloom with color in spring.
The day’s outcome? Over 1000 m² of new flower meadow and 500 bulbs, providing the first food for pollinators after winter.
Why Are Flower Meadows So Important?
In cities, every patch of green matters. Flower meadows help retain water in the soil, lower the surrounding temperature, and protect pollinating insects that are losing their habitats in urban spaces. The planted bulbs will bloom earlier than the seeds, offering bees and other insects nectar and pollen in early spring.
Thank You!
The event in Tychy showed that ecology brings people together and inspires action. We thank all the volunteers for their enthusiasm and commitment, and Stellantis for supporting the Green Pulse of Silesia project – where caring for nature and community go hand in hand.
