Tree planting with Fresenius Medical Care on 16 October 2025 in Wrocław
On October 16th, we spent the day in one of Wrocław’s most beautiful natural areas – the Osobowicki Forest, where together with the teams from Fresenius Medical Care we planted 100 young English oaks (Quercus robur). A group of 20 volunteers worked with great commitment to create a new green space that will benefit the local ecosystem for many years to come. The entire event unfolded in a spirit of collaboration and a shared sense of doing something meaningful for both the forest and the city.
Why English oak?
The English oak is one of the most valuable tree species in Polish forests – long-lived, resilient and essential for maintaining biodiversity. It provides shelter for birds, insects and small mammals, while its strong root system stabilizes the soil and helps retain water. Thanks to these qualities, the species perfectly supports the natural processes taking place in the Osobowicki Forest, enhancing its ability to clean the air, cool the surroundings and create a comfortable environment for residents.
Employee volunteering that makes a difference
Employee volunteering is an important part of modern organizational culture. It allows employees to step outside the office, collaborate in a natural setting and engage in activities that have a real impact on their local environment. Tree-planting is one of the best examples – it combines environmental care with team building and a shared sense of purpose, while also delivering long-lasting benefits to the community.
Together for the Osobowicki Forest
The 100 English oaks planted that day will grow here for decades, enriching the forest with new layers of greenery, improving the microclimate and creating a welcoming space for both people and wildlife. This is an investment that will stay with Wrocław for years to come and become a lasting element of the local landscape. We thank the volunteers from Fresenius Medical Care for their energy, commitment and the wonderful work they did – together we are building the forest of the future.
